“It is only in the last ten years that I seriously started painting. My work has its roots in the work of the past, especially Italian painting of the 15th and 16th centuries. I am involved in telling stories, especially in large pieces, which hopefully have some kind of presence which the viewer can relate to in visual terms...”
"The Red Hat has almost become a trademark for the work that I produce and has been a very popular and successful image over the last few years. He has become a character in his own right with moods and scenarios, which change constantly. Recently I have printed the material used in the work and have had the costume made for the model that I normally use. The next theme I shall be developing is work based on theatre boxes and musicians as well as dancers at rest."
