BIOGRAPHY
Norman Edgar was born Paisley in 1948 and studied painting at the Glasgow School of Art from 1966-70.
Upon graduating he became a teacher of art. In 1990 he resigned to allow himself time to paint full-time. In 1991 he was elected a member of the Royal Glasgow institute of the Fine Arts and in 1993 he was appointed President of the Glasgow Art Club.
He has Received portrait commissions from the University of Glasgow: The Trades House, Glasgow; The Archdiocese of Glasgow; The Maclean Society, ; The Royal Incorporation of Architects, Edinburgh; Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow; Sir James Black; Sir David and Lady Hunt; Sir Houston Shaw Stewart; William Grant & Son; The Royal Infirmary, Glasgow; The Royal College of Obstetricians, London.
