Caroline McAdam Clark was born in London of French-Scottish extraction. Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art and Edinburgh University in 1970, she has consistently pursued a career as a painter.
Her paintings, whilst mostly drawing on the recurrent themes of familiar landscapes and seascapes are often punctuated by the abrupt geometry of man-made structures. She also makes substantial drawings which are finished statements in themselves, unrelated to any paintings.
Caroline McAdam Clark has recently been involved in making art of a more conceptual nature, creating a site specific multiple canvas work around the idea of the Shipping Forecast for a private collection. Her most recent conceptual undertaking was for the North Norfolk Exhibition Project.
Caroline McAdam Clark has exhibited in London and Europe and has work in numerous private collections in the UK, France, Italy and the US. Caroline also has several paintings in the collections of the West Deutches Landesbank, Archant Newspapers and Firmdale Hotels, London. She is a member of the Royal British Artists and lives and works in London and Suffolk.
