Claire Norrington graduated from Winchester School of Art in 1991 and has worked as a professional sculptor since that time. She has developed her own unique method of working in two and three dimensions using mixed media. Her sketches and worked up drawings are from life, of people and animals and also function as preparatory sketches for her sculpture.

The sculpture is built up from found objects on a base of wood and wire. The pieces of string, foam, twig and an assortment of other objects are applied to give the surface of the form a unique physicality, resulting in a more enduring interest and energy.

Claire has had several solo exhibitions and featured in mixed exhibitions in London, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, and Maine, USA. As well as completing a number of Public Sculptures, Claire has also undertaken numerous private commissions including works for Marks & Spencer, The General Trading Co and Wessex Children's Hospital, Hampshire. More recently she has worked on sculpture for public sites. In 1998 she was the youngest artist to be elected a member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors.
