John Kingsley was born in Glasgow in 1956 and studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art from 1973 – 77 under James D. Robertson RSW., RGI., RSA., Geoffrey Squire D.F.A., R.S.W., R.G.I., R.S.A. and Dr David Donaldson R.S.A., R.P., R.G.I., L.L.D., D. Litt. (formerly Artist and Limner to the Queen in Scotland).
John Kingsley has exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Paisley Art Institute of which he is a council member.
