Micky Bolton

Micky Bolton was born in Durban, South Africa in 1956. He settled in the U.K, in 1974 when his first job was as a metal picker in a scrap yard. Micky Bolton then embarked on a career in panel beating and paint spraying, eventually moving on to run his own business restoring classic and racing cars.

Inspired by metal sculptures from his native South Africa Micky Bolton began to exploit his own welding skills from an artistic viewpoint in 1994. His years of expertise working with metal enable him to create a wide variety of exciting art forms using recycled car body parts and panels and agricultural machinery. Often the parts themselves provide the inspiration for the final art form. Texture, colour, size and expression all differ to make each piece an individual.
