Myles was born in 1977 in Plymouth. He was educated at the Leith School of Art in Edinburgh and also graduated from Falmouth College of Art in 2000.
Artist's Statement:
I mostly paint outdoors, places that I feel close to like the Cornish peninsula, the Welsh valleys, the South African vineyards and Royal Deeside in Scotland. I am constantly exploring the fundamentals of brushstrokes, colour and light, trying both to represent and abstract the landscape. My aim is to create paintings that convey the feeling of sitting in and becoming part of the landscape. Alongside this ongoing landscape work, recently I have been producing some still lives, and am excited by this broadening and somewhat introspective new direction of my work.
