This new solo exhibition incorporates all of Mike Healey's proclivities, delivering sensational vibrancy in a vast range of subject matter. From the secluded shores of the Scottish Isles, to hushed Highland snowfields, Healey exalts the natural beauty of his surroundings through mouthpiece of his paintbrush. Equally invigorating are the artist's still life paintings, popular for their bold use of colour and characterful contents.
Mike Healey (b.1951) trained in painting under John Cunningham at Glasgow School of Art and honed his distinctive landscape technique across two travel scholarships. Healey has earned widespread popularity for his combined ability in both landscape and still life painting. Among Healey's favourite subjects are Highland snow scenes, table and chair still life, and Scottish coastal views.
Thompson's Gallery are proud to unveil this new body of work and invite you to enjoy these vivid canvases in person.
Join us on Wednesday 29th May, between 5-7pm to Meet the Artist and celebrate the opening of the exhibition.
