Roger Holmes is a pastel artist working in South East Cornwall, where he has lived for nearly 40 years. He is surrounded by natural beauty, and his pastel paintings and sketches are inspired by (but not limited to) the fabulous coastline and landscape of the west country, which frequently involves travelling around gathering inspiration for his work.
Holmes is a Signature member of The Pastel Guild of Europe (PGE), which he joined to become part of an active community of artists. He is also the designer and editor of the quarterly Scribbler magazine for the PGE which is distributed to all members. In October 2021, he became an associate member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA).
"Throughout my life, I have always been drawn to the sea and am fortunate to live in South East Cornwall with easy access to the rugged beauty of the coast and landscape."
