About
Jaco Roux was born in South Africa in 1962. After completing a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Pretoria in '84 Roux went on to receive a HED diploma in education. Following these successes Roux was chosen to represent South Africa in the 1996 Neuchatel Arts Exposition in Switzerland. He has since exhibited his paintings in many locations around the world including South Africa, Switzerland, Ireland, UK and Croatia.

Roux's evocative paintings depict the Limpopo Province (in South Africa) which is known for its bushveld and wildlife reserves, including part of Kruger National Park and more recently, Croatian landscapes in which he likes to spend his summers. His use of bold colours and brushstrokes display alluring qualities which convey his passion and respect for the landscapes he portrays. The abstract layering adds an experiential dimension creating an opportunity for the viewer to feel closer to the landscape and the artist's personal connection to the places he paints.
