Jane Price British
Following a foundation course at East Warwickshire College, Jane studied for a degree in Furniture & Product Design at Kingston University.
For fifteen years she worked as a product designer in a London based design practice, specialising in colour, materials and finishes on a variety of furniture and product briefs ranging from Herman Miller to Parker Pens and Kodak. Encouraged by a fellow artist who suggested that she find a studio, Jane began working as a full-time artist in 2004 from a shared space in Notting Hill and then established her own studio in Bedford Park in 2007.
"I work in acrylics on canvas currently and have used mixed media including fabrics and sewing, charcoal, ink, pigments and pastel. My approach is fluid. I don't want to restrict my creativity and define myself by a style. The whole process is very flexible and intuitive."
Jane has lived in the Chiswick and Hammersmith area since 1985 and loves the creative community there, and has been involved with Artists at Home participating annually since 2008.
Bedford Park and its environs is a very fertile place for like-minded creatives.
In 2010 Jane was shortlisted for the John Moores Art Prize, and in 2014 was selected for the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition having previously been shortlisted twice. Since 2015 she has worked on several private commissions.
