Irene McCann PAI British, b. 1953
Having graduated with a diploma in graphic design, as my work developed, I found my field of interest was changing to a more Fine Art treatment of my subject matter. I was employed with Reid Kerr College/West of Scotland University, as an Outreach tutor from 2003 - 2013. I have been a member of Paisley Art Institute since 1998, and Artist member since 2001, serving on the committee for many of these, returning at present to take up the role of Membership Secretary again.
ARTIST STATEMENT
The main body of my work consists predominately of oil on linen, of which the subject matter is still life, everyday domestic items, naturally observed through my own personal and imaginative perception. This is a constant development. Inspiration for my work is brought about by my love of colour, shapes and textures.
