Mick Manning grew up in Haworth and studied Art & Design at Bradford College and The University of Northumbria before being awarded a 3-year scholarship in Illustration (and Animation) to the Royal College of Art in 1984. At the RCA his teachers included: Sheila Robinson, Quentin Blake, Bob Godfrey, Anne Howeson and John Norris Wood.
In 1990 Mick established a drawing-based Illustration course at the Glasgow School of Art, before resigning in 1998 to concentrate on his own artistic private practice. Mick’s paintings are often informed by Romanticism but are rooted in personal experiences of natural encounters.
