Nadège Marneffe French

About

Nadège Marneffe is a French painter living near Paris, with a background in fine art and architecture.

Her practice explores the intersections between nature, architecture, and human presence through colour, light, and composition. She defines herself as a colourist, using colour as the emotional structure of her work - a means of connecting with the living world and re-enchanting our perception of it.

Her recent series, Kew Gardens, was developed following several visits to London's iconic glasshouses. The dialogue between the transparent architecture of iron and glass and the luxuriant freedom of tropical foliage became a metaphor for coexistence - between order and abundance, fragility and strength. Through these works, Marneffe seeks to capture the suspended moment when light transforms space and the visible world becomes poetic.

In 2025, works from the Kew Gardens series were exhibited at Prince & Pilgrim Gallery in Richmond as part of the group exhibition Handpicking Spring. This experience strengthened her desire to build meaningful artistic connections within the UK, where her painterly language of rhythm, light, and colour has found a natural resonance.
