Shaun Devenney is a Scottish painter and mural artist from Paisley, now based in Melbourne, Australia, whose work explores memory, place and the social conditions embedded within everyday environments. Moving between intimate oil paintings and large scale public works, his practice draws on working class life, urban landscapes and personal experience.
Through layered figurative imagery, erasure and painterly distortion, Devenney transforms familiar scenes into images that sit between observation, memory and decay.
