AldeburghCamilla has worked at Thompson's Gallery for over 8 years and is based in Aldeburgh. She began her journey in the artworld working for Sotheby's in the 19th Century European painting department. Camilla continued her career at Thos. Agnew & sons, when Old Bond Street was flooded with dealers and the London Art Market was vibrant and exciting, before moving to the high profile and extremely private Lefevre Gallery. A favourite moment of her's was arranging a shipment of two rare Degas wax figures acquired from Paris and bought by the MET in New York.

John and Susan Thompson
FoundersJohn and Susan Thompson are the founders of Thompson's Gallery, which they established in 1982. With a deep knowledge of antiques and Victorian watercolours, they built the gallery's early reputation on scholarship and connoisseurship. In the 1990's, as collecting tastes shifted, they pivoted towards contemporary art, championing figurative oil painters from Scotland. Today, they continue to shape the gallery's vision, while actively scouting Modern British artwork and Contemporary South African artists in South Africa.
