Still Not Static
This exhibition puts sculpture and still life in conversation with one another to highlight their differences and dynamisms. Both disciplines revolve around real objects - sculpture produces them, while still life renders three dimensions on a flat plane. Intrinsic to each therefore is the quality of stillness, a capture and communication of the real object.
However, still does not mean static- made evident in the variety of style, approach, and concept across the span of this exhibition. Both practices are ever evolving, changing, and defying the limits of stillness.
