'Painter on the Shore' is based on a photograph of the beloved Scottish artist, Joan Eardley, painting on the shore in Catterline where she based herself from the early 1950s until her untimely death in 1963. Stuart grew up seeing her paintings in all the big public collections in Scotland, and has lived in Catterline for the last 20 years and lived in Eardley’s former home since 2006.
