To celebrate Thompson’s Gallery’s 44th Annual Exhibition 2026, we are delighted to present on opening weekend a specially curated Modern British Room. Art Curatded by Thompson's and room designed, and styled by interior designer Alexandra Langdon.
Set within our Summer Exhibition at the Aldeburgh gallery, the room reflects Alexandra’s considered approach to interior design, bringing together an exceptional selection of Modern British paintings alongside carefully chosen fabrics, furniture, and Soane Britain wallpaper. Complemented by a rug from The Rug and Carpet Studio, the scheme creates a setting that celebrates the enduring appeal of British art and design.
Featured artists include, Craig Aitchison RA, Gary Bunt, Mary Fedden RA, Fred Cuming RA, Sir Robin Philipson RA, Mary Potter RA, Anne Cotterill, Sheree Valentine-Daines, Paula Nightingale and Fred Yates.
For over four decades, our Annual Exhibition has celebrated the finest contemporary painters and sculptors while showcasing outstanding Modern British works. This room offers an opportunity to experience these remarkable paintings within a thoughtfully designed interior, highlighting the timeless relationship between art, craftsmanship and the home.
