Description: The narrative is created by the significant contrast of agribusiness and a domestic allotment at the artist's home in Suffolk.
Whereby the horticulture of the enclosed garden in 2019 was surrounded by an imposing growing expanse of wheat in the adjacent field.
The use of the term 'Temple' compares the nature of gardens to places of solitude, contemplation and worship. Also significant at seasonal periods in the garden is the construction of architectural bean poles. The concept of temple could also be advanced by the inclusion of the 'butler' sink, (a frequent device found in the artist's work) which could convert to a baptismal font...as and when required !
