Two distinctive voices in contemporary British painting come together in this duo exhibition, united by a shared response to landscape, light and atmosphere. Though differing in approach, both artists are drawn to places shaped by changing weather, shifting light and the ever changing character of the natural world.
Nick Botting’s paintings capture fleeting moments observed directly from life, from figures and coastlines to landscapes full of energy and movement. Working en plein air, his paintings possess a spontaneity and immediacy that draws the viewer into the scene, responding instinctively to the rhythms of people and place. Oona Campbell’s work takes a more lyrical and atmospheric approach, exploring light, weather and place through evocative landscapes and dramatic vistas that move between observation and memory.
Together, their work creates a dialogue between movement and stillness, offering a rich and varied response to landscape and a celebration of the places that continue to inspire them both.
